Well, it certainly has been a momentous week for me; I retired yesterday ๐
So today was my first day of 'freedom ', and what better way to celebrate it than to spend the day with Olivia and Millie. The plan for today was to head to Aston Springs Farm for a few hours. We had been there a few times before, but never on our own with both girls.
We arrived a little after 10am, and as the weather was hot, hats and sun cream were the order of the day. Plus, it was a good day to let the girls wear their new watch straps with GPS trackers, making us feel much more secure out and about with them.
Of course, we also paid to get the baby goat experience as we knew that the girls would love it. They were a little nervous at first, as expected, as the goats do get rather giddy when there is food around. But after a while they settled down, and the guy there made them feel really comfortable.
As we expected, Millie is happier in the play areas; she likes the animals but isn't as bothered at her age as Olivia is. Olivia's favourites were the ponies; she loved how friendly they were and how they let her stroke them.
The plan was to have lunch there, but there was no pasta kids' meal on offer, and the only seats were in the baking sun. So we left, and Donna phoned Leger Lakes, but they had no pasta on their menu today. So, McDonald's it would be then!
For the rest of the day, we played with the girls at home; I think the highlight was the new Hungry Hippos game that I had just purchased. Something I hadn't played with since I was a youngster.
I dropped them off at home around 4:30pm; I must admit I was shattered, but it had been a great day.
