As it was the kids holiday, we asked Sophie and Jake if we could have Olivia for a day, so we could spend some time with her. We had a few dates as options, but as I had to tie them in with covering for other people at work, we chose Friday the 8th.
I picked Olivia up at 9am, and we headed over to our house for 30 minutes or so, as we had booked tickets for the Butterfly House, with a 10:15am entry. It's somewhere I have only every visited once, and that was when Jake was a child; he's now 33 years old.

The weather was nice, not too warm with a slight breeze, just as we like it, which made walking around the park much easier than it would have been the week after when the temperature was set to soar to around 30c.
We spent some time having a quick look around, but Olivia said she was hungry so we headed to the cafe for lunch. Two pizza's were the order of the day, literally, Olivia ate about 3/4 of hers, with Donna having a couple of slices, and I ate most of mine. And to be fair they were decent ones.

For the next four hours or so we enjoyed all the park had to offer. Lots of animals for kids, lots of areas where you could spray each other with water, and various play areas. The best part I would say though is the actual Butterfly House, yes it's very warm in there, but there are butterflies just all around you. It's not much of a challenge to get one of them to come and sit on your hand. Olivia loved it all.
At around 4:30pm we left the park but before heading back to the car, we stopped off at the cafe again, for a drink and gingerbread penguin for Olivia to have as her afternoon snack. It was then time to take Olivia home after a wonderful day.
