Today on the agenda was a morning around the house, followed by a trip up the coast to Holy Island.
The reasons were, that this morning I needed to spend some time to contact both the Nationwide BS and First Direct bank, as today we were paying off the mortgage 6 years early.....happy days. The initial plan was to do it a couple of weeks ago but that would have meant paying around £600 in early redemption fees, so definitely worth the wait.
The other reason for not going out until the afternoon was that the causeway across to Lindisfarne would be under water from around 10am to 2pm, so we had to wait for the tide to go out a little.
We spent a little over 2hrs walking around the island, firstly down to the historic Daymark, and then around the castle before heading back to the car. As with last night I had hoped to get some good photos, but again the cloud came over and the tides weren't low enough for me to get anything other than what I had done on previous visits.
So by 5pm we were back at the house, and with great timing as around 30 minutes later, the first rain of the week was upon us.
