Travel Day - 7th October

And for our first time ever in the UK, we would be travelling to our second week of a UK holiday. A 5hr drive ahead of us, off to the north-west coast of Anglesey, to Cemaes Bay.

The forecast was for plenty of rain on the way up, and it didn't disappoint with patches of very heavy rain interspersed with sunny intervals.

We left at 9:30am, and the first hour plus of our drive was to be honest a bit of a pain. Google Maps did as Google does, shortest route and than meant lots of driving down narrow single-track lanes; a test of the nerves in numerous places.

A small detour to New Quay was the order of the day, we had a walk around the harbour then stopped off for lunch before hitting the rest of the journey. And we were lucky that the heavens opened shortly after we entered the Deli for lunch.

Apart from a very short stop off near some waterfalls, and then a shopping stop at Waitrose in Menai Bridge, it was non-stop go. Eventually arriving in Cemaes Bay around 5:30pm. Before unpacking we headed down to have a look around the bay, to get our bearings so to speak. And soon it was time to settle in to our stunning new home for the next week.
