As we have been on holiday for the last 2 weeks, it's a good few weeks since we last saw Jake, Sophie and Olivia.
And although Olivia is at her dad's this weekend, Jake invited us to join them for Sunday lunch at the Bluebell Inn, in Lound, just north of Retford. A place we have never visited before, in fact, a village that I had never even heard of.
We arrived around 15 minutes early and it was quite funny, as the manager referenced a visit by Jake a week or so earlier when he spilt his beer all over - that said, given his size he's not someone you would forget easily!
It was a lovely 2hrs we spent with them, catching up on the progress at their house, how Olivia was doing at school and swimming. Just a really lovely time.
And the food was delicious, large portions and well cooked. Let's suffice it to say that I didn't have a dessert, but I still went away feeling very full. A pleasant afternoon all round.
