As we were expecting a dry day today, the plan was to walk the 4.5 miles along the Wales Coastal Path, along the coast to Saundersfoot. We set off on the walk, however, it was quite 'clammy' so we abandoned the idea after about a mile, as we didn't fancy all the ups and downs and the body warmth that would bring with it.
We didn't however abandon the plan to visit Saundersfoot, just that we drove there. The main car-parks were closed off as the village was preparing for the upcoming World Coastal Rowing Championships, so we had to venture a little further along the coast, to the large car-park at Coppett Hall Point a 10-minute walk outside the village.

The walk back took us through an old railway tunnel and then along the beach to the sea-front. And to be honest, we were both a little underwhelmed with the place. So many people had told us that "You just have to visit Saundersfoot", but, it was nothing special. We spent a couple of hours in the area, along the beach, and stopped off for an ice-cream, which, followed the underwhelming theme. A two-scoop cone each, and no taste in either of the four flavours we had between us.
After heading back to the car, we decided to continue in the opposite direction, through two further old tunnels, to Wiseman's Bridge. A very small place with little more there than a pub, where of course, we stopped off for a drink and just took in the view of the sea.

When we walked back to the car, we had been parked for around 3.5hrs, so a great way to end the day would be a barefoot walk in the sea. It was low tide now, so a 200m or so walk to the water, but great to get the very cold ocean lapping over your feet. Not sure I would like to swim in it though!
After getting back and having bacon and eggs for tea, I sat outside again, fighting the wind to read the newspaper. But in the end it was the dimming light that beat me. Feet up time.
