It was a bank holiday weekend and we didn't have much planned so made arrangements to meet Jake and his little family. They had planned to go to Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Sunday, but given that Olivia is only 4 and her young legs might struggle walking around the park, we decided to meet up at Aston Springs Farm where the walk was easier on little legs, and the animals more accessible and friendly.
We met at 11am on what was a sunny day, and soon set off on our walk around the site. It was a tad warm but thankfully much of it is in the shade. We had bought 3 bags of animal food at the kiosk so Olivia could feed the animals as we walked along the paths weaving their way through the site. Donna and Sophie have been here before with Olivia, and were amazed at just how much Olivia had come on. She was off on her own, reaching through and gently stroking the goats and the small horses.
Our walk took around one and three-quarter hours and by then we were ready for lunch. We had booked a table in their restaurant for 1pm, so we took cover out of the sun and ordered our meal. We all enjoyed our meals of choice, and Olivia in particular had wolfed down her tomato pasta; she loves it.
Olivia was now getting a little tired so we all gave out hugs and said our goodbyes, and went on our separate ways.
