We briefly met Sophie's dad and partner, Adrian and Angie, during the first week or so of Jake moving into his new house. However, we were both busy at the time doing jobs around the house so it was little more than an introduction, and 'Ady' and Angie were just making a passing visit as they were heading back home to Northamptonshire.
So to get to know them more we invited them for a barbecue at our house.
They had stayed locally for a couple of days as they wanted to spend the Friday with Sophie, Olivia and Jake, and then come to us on Saturday. The weather was very warm so we needed lots of shade, we put all of our garden furniture out, we had also purchased a new domed gazebo, and, we had a small padding pool plus had asked Jake to get us a bigger one on the way here. So we were well set for the afternoon.
And a great afternoon was had by all, we all got to know each other much better and got on well. The food was good, we managed to stay fairly cool as we had one of our large fans on the decking with us, and we managed to keep Olivia entertained. She just loved playing in the paddling pools, and as she often does, much of the time she just kept herself entertained as she does.
Around 5pm or so they all headed off, back to the hotel for Ady and Angie, and back home for Jake, Sophie and Olivia.
