Last night we surprised Jake when we turned up at his 30th birthday curry with friends. He knew nothing of it, but I am sure he did have some suspicions when his friends left two empty seats at the table; although I'm sure he wouldn't have thought it was for us! It was a lovely night and great to meet some of his closest friends.
Today however was the day of his birth - 17th February, so hard to believe that it was 30 years ago that he was born in the hospital in Northampton where we lived at the time, that little bundle that grew to the size he is now.
He came over with Sophie & Olivia, Olivia was still a little shy but much better than the last time she came to our house. Donna had made a 'kids' party for Jake, and we had had a cake made by one of his friends Kirstie. I'm sure that fuss all helped bring Olivia out of her shell a tad.
It was a lovely few hours, and everyone seemed to enjoy the surprise party, especially Olivia - but then again which kid doesn't enjoy a party?
