After missing the chance to travel over to the Lincolnshire coast last year, for obvious reasons, it was good to get there today.
We knew that last time we went a couple of years ago it was busy when we arrived around 10am, and with this year expected to be very busy, we decided to head off at 6am, so up bright and early at 5am.

It's a relatively long drive over there, the first hour or so is on motorways, followed by 45 minutes through the backroads of northeast Lincolnshire. Obviously quite quiet at this time of day which is a positive, but hard to keep your eyes open when having set off so early.

And of course as always it didn't disappoint. I can understand why some people may think that one year is just the same as the next, after all the seals all look alike don't they? But that's not the point in my opinion, we just love the fact that the seals come to this area for around 2 months each year to have their pups - so far 952 born this autumn.
We stayed for 2hrs, enjoying the sights, sounds and yes, smells of the reserve. So by mid-day we were back home and getting ready to head out to the rugby.
