Now I know that it's rare that I don't mention the weather forecast in my blog posts, and today is going to be no different.
The plan for today was to head the hour south down to Crich, and checking the weather apps this morning they all suggested cloud but no rain. So I logged on and purchased 2 x adult tickets at £19 each. Then shortly after, I checked the weather apps again and now they were showing some rain on and off. So what should we do? Well after considering waiting to go down in the afternoon, we bit the bullet and just headed off down there.

And we were in luck, it was dry all the time we were there, in fact for the last 30 minutes or so the sun kept peeping from behind the clouds.
We've been here before a few years ago so knew what to expect, and it didn't disappoint. It's not the biggest place so don't worry about getting lost here, but what there is here doesn't disappoint. Unless of course you have no interest in vintage transport!

There are lots of trams on view from the sheds, many more inside the exhibition hall, and of course always a few doing the round-trip from one end of the site to the other. And for kids, as well as the trams, there is a great woodland walk with all sorts of interesting things to do for those with little legs. It was at the end of the walk that we decided to take a seat and enjoy the freshly made sandwiches we had picked up on our way down.
We were there for a tad over 3hrs, you could spend more time there if you are a real rail geek, but for us it was just about right/
