Tonight we were out for a joint Mothers Day and Fathers Day meal with Jake.
He took us to the well-known chain of steak restaurants, Miller and Carter; we had never been before but Jake recommended it for steak. He even picked us up so we could have a drink, just like we had our own chauffeur.
The meal itself was really nice, I must admit that I ordered too big a steak and couldn't finish it, whereas Donna took the more sensible approach which paid off. And we had a bit of a surprise, even though Donna did have an inkling, Jake announced that he was seeing someone.
Jake has a good friend Cordelia, he is friends with her husband, and her two kids love him like an uncle. And she has a friend called Sophie, who has a 3-year old daughter. As a group they have spent time together on outings, and Jake and Sophie had become really good friends, and so it progressed. A real change in his life, and we couldn't wait to meet Sophie and Olivia.
