Today's forecast, even though you never know whether to believe it, was for a dry morning and then the rains to come along and drench us for the next 2 days. So Donna needed to get out early on her daily walk.
She left the cottage around 9:45am and as earlier in the week, she headed northwards to Sandsend. As it was closing on on high tide she wouldn't be able to make it all the way on the beach, so after walking along Whitby front near the beach huts she went back up the hill to walk along the road.
Now Donna does walk at a pace, and it was only around 11am when she messaged me to say she was almost there, and would I be joining her for lunch? Ok it was a little early, but why not I thought? I quickly jumped in the car to take an early lunch (thankfully I had just finished a work conference call) and by 11:30am I had joined Donna in the under cover outside seating area and we were ordering lunch.

I had the marinated fish Taco and Donna had tuna mayo sandwiches, at our table overlooking the sea. Oh what a life that would be if this was the norm. We didn't have time for a dessert so took some away for us to treat ourselves to this afternoon; jam and cream scone for Donna and a piece of coffee and walnut cake for me.
And the forecast was right today, almost on queue the rains came so that looks like we will be marooned in the cottage for the rest of the day.
