Now if I am being honest, I would struggle to class our outing today as a local one. Yes it's only a 25-30 minute drive, but that's all motorway and around 30 miles so I do feel a tad guilty going. However, if we look at it sensibly, it's a massive open air country park with sculptures spread across the estate - none of the internal areas are open, there are even some of the external 'galleries' that are closed. So we were never going to get near anyone at all, never mind come close enough to risk spreading or catching an infection.

We haven't been to the park for a few years, on both occasions in the past if my memory serves me well, we have doubled up with the offer of park entrance and breakfast, and boy are their cooked breakfasts first class. For obvious reasons it was park only today, and the prices are only £6 per adult based on the reduced attractions. Which, is an absolute bargain for somewhere that you could easily spend a whole day. In the end we were there for 4hrs.
There are some really attractive art installations, and to be fair, some that I wonder what the artist was thinking of. For example, we saw some rusty metal boxes in an area of woodland, some in the undergrowth. And that was an art installation, it was to symbolise the American CIA 'black boxes' where they keep prisoners around the world....what, art???

You could do a lot of walking if you spent all day there and ventured to the outer reaches of the park, which we did last time but not today. We managed to walk over 6 miles, and it was only the fact that it was sunny and a little warm that we ended the walk when we did.
In the end we had been out of the house for around 6hrs, it was mid-afternoon by the time we arrived home and I was now really looking forward to a shower, and to put my feet up.
