With two days to go before we start to come out of our latest 3 month lockdown, we went rogue again and headed to the Peak District for our first visit since before lockdown started.

The alarm was set for 6am, so by 7am we were parked close to Ashopton Viaduct at the bottom of the main part of the reservoir, you do have to get there early particularly during 'normal' times as the parking does fill up early.
The route is one we have done many times before, so although I did have my camera with me I didn't take too many shots. I was always trying to look for something a little different, but this time of year there's not a lot to see. It was cold, around 3c when we arrived, and there was some light snow on the hills surrounding the reservoir so that did add a little interest.

It's a steady walk around the water, a little over 6 miles with a few undulations but nothing to write home about, but enough given the lack of recent walking to make you puff a little.
We were hoping that the water would be coming over Derwent Dam, again, we have seen it many times but the scale of the structure with the curtain of water coming over the top is always a sight to see, but alas nothing today.
By the time we arrived back at the car we had been walking for a little over 2hrs, so a steady start to the day and great conditions in which to walk. Nice start to the weekend.
