Today's excursion some may class as the Peak District, however although some people refer to it as such, it's on the outskirts of Sheffield but I believe outside of the national park.
Myself, Malc, Tony and Ash met up at a little before 7am at the car-park at the top of Wyming Brook; possibly my favourite place to take photos of moving water, particularly in autumn with all the glorious colours swathing the narrow valley down the hill towards Rivelin Dam.

Today was not a photography day though, that said I wouldn't miss an opportunity as we walked down the hill, but it was just the start of our hike. It would bring back bad memories for Malc who last time we were here, he dropped a lens into the brook, never to be seen again.
As we arrived at the bottom of the valley next to the dam, we took the path east as although you can I believe walk over the dam wall, you are then limited at the far end as to where you can go from there as it's Yorkshire Water land. So we just followed Hollow Meadows Brook until it reached the path uphill at Headstone.

It's not a steep walk, and as with previous recent walks the blooming heather adds to the sense of peace as you slowly hike up across the moor. After a couple of miles you come to Redmires Reservoirs, comprising 3 individual reservoirs, one of which had been emptied the last time we were here to enable a dam wall to be repaired. This time however, all were relatively full.
When we arrived back at the car it has only been 7 or so miles, but thankfully a dry walk which was a bonus given the week we have had.
