Baslow Edge Evening - 7th September 2019

For various reason myself Donna just hadn't managed to get out for a walk for a good while. Either the weather was wet, or too hot when we were both off so we just couldn't time good walking weather with our free time. Today was forecast to be good weather right through until sunset so we made the decision to head out early evening to avoid both the crowds, and also the heat of the day.

We left around 5:30pm so arrived an hour later and thankfully the car-park at Curbar Gap had started to empty so spaces were plentiful, a pity however that at that time of day the lovely coffee and cake van had gone. Never mind through as we did have some food packed away in the rucksack.

The main purpose of me taking my camera gear was to get some shots over the valley from Baslow Edge, however unfortunately 95% of the sky was clear but also there was a large cloud right over the sun so we didn't get the orange glow that I had hoped for. We did though get the glorious pink sky in the east, and of course enjoyed the sight of the Highland Cattle going about their business up on the moor. In fact we sat on the bench with views of Chatsworth a couple of miles in the distance, with the cattle munching away on the lush grass just feet from us.

By 8:30pm the light had really faded so it was time to jump back in the car and head back home, arriving at 9:30pm. A short but enjoyable evening trip out.
