Clumber Park - 21st October 2018

And so to our first outing after returning from 2 weeks in Iceland.

Just a few hours out in the very nice autumn weather, 17c this time of year, can't complain. That said I was a tad warm so of course I did complain

We didn't want to go too far so a trip across to the Peak District was out of the question, Donna wanted to get some pre-winter gardening done so it made sense not to waste the good weather. Given that the forecast if it is to be believed, is that in a week or so time we are going to have temperatures well below freezing and a good covering of snow you just have to make the best of the weather.

The plan was to go over to Rufford Park, but as we got close to Clumber Park we decided to stop off there for the 6 or so mile walk around the grounds and the lake. And to say it was busy today would be an understatement, it was filling up as we got there but the 3 or so hours later when we left it was rammed and the queues were like a rush hour morning into the city. Of course we had to stop for hot drinks and cake at the far end of the lake, and even that was very busy we people fighting for a seat.

We really enjoyed the walk though as we always do, lots of autumn colours, a lovely shimmer off the lake and we were gobsmacked at the amount of birds that were on the lake, so many Geese maybe having their last meet up before setting off for the winter maybe?

By around 12:30pm we were back home, and ready for a few hours in the garden and Donna was hoping to get her Iceland photos loaded off the camera.
