Not a bad weather forecast for today, so as it would be as waste of a nice day had we done nothing, after our early shopping jaunt for Christmas fruit and veg we decided to go for a walk at our fallback location; Clumber Park. We also needed to renew our National Trust membership so it made sense to go there to get that done well in time for January.
By a little after 9:30am we were parked up and ready for a stroll around the lake. Now I hadn't planned for this to be any sort of photo walk, so I just took my camera with the fixed 50mm lens. But, shortly after we arrived and I saw the mist clinging to the lake I was wondering if I had been wise in not taking my camera bag with me. But, I would simply have to make do.
Most of the time we head in a clockwise direction around the lake and today would be no different. As we headed around the toe end of the lake where the bare tree trunks were peaking out of the mist, I did begin to wish I had more camera gear with me, but to be honest the lake is going nowhere so more opportunities in the future.
Last time we were here we missed out on a hot drink at the bottom of the lake as I was stopping too much along the way to take photos, but no worries about this on our visit today. So hot chocolate for Donna and Mocha for me, and we each had a slice of ginger loaf...mmmmm.
About another hour or so back to the car, so it had been a nice relaxing 3hr walk around Clumber. A lovely fresh walk in the run up to the festive period.
