Due to other commitments we hadn't had a Sunday walk with my little walking group, so I arranged one for today but with a bit of a twist.
Colin and Dianne weren't available so must myself, Malcolm and Mel would be 'treading the boards', however what I had been secretly arranging was for us to meet up with Diane Goulding who we hadn't seen for 6 months since we all went out separate ways.
As Diane isn't a seasoned walker I arranged a steady route of close to 6 miles around a couple of reservoirs not far from where Diane lives to the north of Sheffield. It was funny when we arrived to see Mel's face as she suddenly realised that it was Diane who had pulled up just behind us close to the dam of More Hall Reservoir.
Diane had brought her husband Denis along with her so it was good to meet him - I've known Diane for almost 20 years but had never met Denis! Our steady walk only took us around 3hrs but it was really good to catch up, and just reminisce about the old days.
The walk ended quite abruptly for me though as Donna phoned when I was about 10 minutes from the end of the walk to tell me that my mum had been ambulanced to hospital as she's had a bad fall. So a quick pick up as Donna left work early, then an afternoon at the hospital. Thankfully mum was ok after being seen to by the doctors.
