Walk: 2pm to 4:15pm - 4.5 miles
Donna hadn't slept that well last night as she's full of cold, and combined with the walking that we have done so far this week we decided to have a steady day today. My knee was also giving me a pain so maybe wise to take it steady.
The morning passed by with little energy exerted, reading and watching TV was the order of the day, followed by lunch. However by about 1:30pm we were yearning to stretch our legs a little and grab some fresh air, so a quick spruce up and ready to leave the cottage around 2pm.
The car would be redundant this afternoon as we decided to have a stroll down the beach to Long Nanny where the Arctic Terns come to breed in the summer, then back up and 10 minutes around the harbour. The weather wasn't as stunning as yesterday, but then again it was nowhere as bad as the cold and fog that much of the rest of the country is suffering. It was a fairly cloudy morning, but whilst we were out walking there were lots of breaks in the cloud and another gorgeous sunset on the way.
I didn't take my normal camera set-up this time, but popped my 60mm lens on the camera body and set it to f/5.6 with the intention of leaving it at that setting and having to make the most of it. Very challenging as you simply don't have the flexibility, that said, not really a great deal to take photos of on the wide open spaces of the beach backed by rolling dunes.
By not much after 4pm we were back at the cottage and ready to wrap up warm for the evening, a nice short walk to blow the cobwebs away.
