Conwy - 22nd January 2015

So to our first holiday of 2016, and admittedly we didn't wait too long into the year before going away but we do like our holidays. After all, you only live once and you can't take it with you so enjoy it whilst you can; that's the Bott motto.

It had been a couple of years since we were last in Wales with our trips to Dolwydellan, and as we'd ventured a few miles north during one of those trips to the lovely walled town of Conwy, we decided that it might be nice to come here for a week. And we found this gorgeous cottage a mile and a half from the town and with lovely views of the hills - Mountain View.

The journey across was a wet one to say the least, but to be fair to the forecasters they did say that they would be a wide band of rain crossing the country, and they did promise us some clear skies after it had passed over. And they were very true to their word, we arrived in Conwy around 1:30pm and the skies had cleared to leave us with beautiful blue skies overhead. That said, it is expected to be a rather wet week ahead, but who cares as WE ARE ON HOLIDAY!

Our first port of call was Tesco on the outskirts of the town to stock up, then into the town to find somewhere for lunch. We took some time to decide where to eat, in fact we even went into one cafe and just had a drink as we didn't fancy anything on the menu, then headed down the street to another one which I must say was well worth the visit; a lovely cosy little place called L's Coffee and Books where I had Scampi and Chips with all the trimmings and Donna had a lovely Toastie. Ok that might not sound that adventurous but the quality and presentation was excellent.

So now off up the hill to our cottage, and a relaxing evening out in the hills under the stars...at least I hope we see stars as I'm hoping to try out a little astrophotography tonight. So fingers crossed.
